BLOCK PRINTING

Traditionally, block printing was used to print fabrics. This process involves sketching and carving a design into a block of wood, applying ink or dye, and stamping it into a finished fabric.

Block printing is known to have been, used in India since at least the 12 century, although this method is thought to be 2,000 years old. Indian Artician borrowed a technique from other countries, one theory States and turned it into culturally distinct art form.

Wood block printing was used mostly to print religious books. The most famous book printed during the Tang Dynasty was the Diamond Sutra. This huge Book included pictures and text and helped to spread Buddhism throughout Asia.

Wood block printing on textiles is the process of printing patterns on textiles usually of linen, cotton or silk, by means of incised wooden blocks. It is the earliest, simplest and slowest of all methods of textile printing.

Fabric colors

Cotton cloth

Wooden blocks

A piece of cotton cloth or sponge

Tissue paper

Brush

Old bed sheet

RAFU OR DARNING OF CLOTHES AT HOME

DARNING OR RAFU 

Darning is a sewing technique for repairing holes in fabric or knitting using needle and thread alone. It is often done by hands , But it is also possible to darn with a sewing machine.

Darning is a traditional method for repairing fabric damage or holes that do not run along a seam , and where patching is impractical.

Here , I am going to share a different method of darning with tape. It is very simple and easy way of rafu or darning of clothes at home.

I have been making these aprons forever. My children love to wear apron made by me.

KIDS FACE MASK |DIY|

wearing a face mask is a new concept for many kids, so it's important to help them understand why  we should wear a mask.

.

We have to explain to kids that mask is recommended by the Doctors, if we can wear mask, we can protect ourselves and other people.

We can motivate them to wear mask by giving them choice of their colors and prints, so that kids feel excited to wear mask.

We can give them choice of nursery prints or polka dot prints.

Let's start making a mask:

Please make sure that the fabric and elastic band should be of good quality. Elastic should be thin, soft and more stretchable.

MATERIAL REQUIRED:

For kids

Cotton fabric-11×11 inch (2pcs)

Rubber band-2 or 

Elastic band-18 cm (2pcs)

For ladies:

Cotton fabric-13×13 inch(2pcs) 

For gents:

Cotton fabric-14×14 inch(2pcs
